At the 7^th Global Summit of National Bioethics Advisory Bodies in Paris in September 2008, it was decided that the 8^th Global Summit of National Bioethics Advisory Bodies will be held in Singapore from 26 – 27 July 2010, in conjunction with the 10^th World Congress of Bioethics.


The Bioethics Advisory Committee, together with the Ministry of Health, Singapore, will be hosting this biennial event, which started in 1996 as an initiative of the U.S. National Bioethics Advisory Commission and the French Comité Consultatif  National d'Ethique. The Ethics and Health Team at World Health Organization provides the permanent secretariat for the Global Summit. 


The venue for the Global Summit is the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

• Beijing: 4-5 August 2006
• Canberra: 7-8 November 2004
• Brasilia: 3-4 November 2002
• London: 20-21 September 2000
• Tokyo: 3-4 November 1998
• San Francisco: November 1996
